Supporters of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton want a recount of the ballots in three states on the basis of experts' statements with an eye toward ruling out the hacking of voting machines in the Nov. 8 election, although her campaign has not yet issued a statement on the matter. Republican President-elect Donald Trump defeated Clinton in terms of the electoral vote on Nov. 8, although the former secretary of state handily won the popular vote, but his margin of victory was very narrow in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, while in Michigan the magnate had a greater percentage advantage, but that state still has not determined whether he or Clinton won there.

As Americans feasted on turkey Thursday during the nation's first major post-election holiday, some took to social media to describe the political gloating, loathing and subject avoiding they experienced around the Thanksgiving table. Facebook and Twitter posts, many even before dinner was served, revealed some people still struggling to come to grips with Donald Trump's victory and others expressing relief that his rival, Hillary Clinton, didn't win.

The New York Times has released a full transcript of US President-elect Donald Trump's wide-ranging interview with a group of Times reporters, editors and opinion columnists. Mr Trump clarified his position on several key issues in the interview , telling the Times he no longer felt strongly about pursuing further investigations into Democratic rival Hillary Clinton's email practices and had also softened his stance on climate change.
