Sixty-five people attended the 40th annual Lincoln Day Dinner hosted by the La Salle County Republicans on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Pitstick Pavilion in Ottawa. And for everyone there, the night was one of voiced hopes for the future of Republicans in the 2018 elections.
Marseilles resident Heidi Henry originally planned to run for state representative, but she ended up going for the state Senate seat held by Republican Sue Rezin. Henry was the only Democrat to file for Senate in the March 20 Democratic primary, while Rezin was the sole candidate on the GOP side.
County Highway 1, also known as East 1553rd Road, will be closed for a culvert replacement from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9. The culvert is located 350 feet east of East 1251st Road and 550 feet from the U.S. 34 intersection. A detour will not be posted.
