Rik Combs, of Lohman, filed Tuesday as the fifth Republican candidate seeking to represent the 59th Missouri House District seat currently held by Mike Bernskoetter, R-Jefferson City, who is term-limited. US Navy plans to modify 45 more Super Hornets

The US Navy plans to modify 45 more Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornets in the next two years to increase the aircraft's service life and capabilities, the US Naval Air Systems Command announced on 27 March. The potential contract will cover modifications to up to 15 aircraft in fiscal year 2019 and a maximum of 30 aircraft in FY2020, NAVAIR says.

The search for an Illinois man two days late returning from an Everglades kayaking trip ended Tuesday morning when a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter found him safe. The National Park Service and U.S. Coast Guard had been searching for Lockport, Illinois resident James Soltis, who embarked on a Everglades Wilderness Waterway kayaking trip to the Everglades National Park Rangers March 15. Soltis was supposed to be back Sunday.
