A bi-partisan bill which would appropriate $400 million in 100 days for transportation projects pledged by Gov. Christ Christie during his budget address, cleared its first legislative speed bump Thursday. The legislation was approved by the state Senate Appropriations Committee Thursday and was amended to allocate $140 million to NJ Transit and $260 million to the state Department of Transportation.
