It was sweet because Cooks was officially announced by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association as the co-recipient of this year’s Miss Basketball Award along with Madison Edgewood senior Estella Moschkau. It was bitter because she received the award during halftime of the WIAA Division-4 state title game at the Resch Center in Green Bay, a game in which Cooks hoped to be playing.
