LAFAYETTE Bryce Washington recorded his 19th double-double of the season, senior Jay Wright became the 44th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point mark and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns snapped a four-game losing skid with an impressive 87-61 win over South Alabama on Monday at the Cajundome. Frank Bartley added 10 points while reserve post player Larenz Stalcup scored eight points, grabbed a season-high nine rebounds and blocked a season-best four shots as Louisiana built a 37-28 lead at halftime and all 12 players who dressed got into the scoring column.

Josh Delaney had 14 points, Chris Galbreath Jr. added 13, and Torry Butler had a career-best 15 rebounds as Sam Houston State finished strong to beat Incarnate Word 72-63 on Saturday night. The win stopped a short two-game losing skid as Sam Houston State fell out of first place in the Southland Conference after losing to Abilene Christian and Lamar.
ODU hands UAB first home conference loss in 26 games
Ahmad Caver had 23 points, five rebounds and eight assists, B.J. Stith added 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, and Old Dominion beat UAB 83-62 on Saturday night to snap the Blazers’ 25-game home winning streak in conference play. UAB, which trailed by nine at halftime, pulled within 49-45 with 13:18 to go but Old Dominion answered with a 12-2 run for a 14-point lead and the Monarchs led by at least 12 the rest of the way.

Buffalo Bulls Women’s Basketball did a tremendous job keeping up with Northern Illinois for three quarters but in the end, the Huskies emerged victorious on offense. Dropping this game 89-80, the Bulls now find themselves in a spot where they have to reconsider how they’re going about defense, as the hot shooting teams of the MAC have become too much to handle.
