Increased monitoring for popular swim spots

Horizons Regional Council has increased their annual swim spot monitoring programme from 17 sites to over 80, to run alongside a complementary summer swim spot campaign that will help inform the public about potential health risks and highlight the Region’s fantastic recreational sites enjoyed by the public every summer. Horizons Chairman Bruce Gordon says from Ruapehu, Whanganui and the Manawatu, to Horowhenua and Tararua, the Region’s numerous swim spots offer some of the country’s most stunning scenery and excellent picnicking, camping and bush walking opportunities for locals and visitors alike.

City of Concord to Host Workshop for Retirement Planning

The Concord Senior Center is hosting a workshop for people who want to learn about the role of social security, Medicare, pensions and plans such as 401Ks and IRAs in retirement. Call for investigation as 20 young Scots a day rejected for mental health care

NEARLY 20 children and teenagers a day in Scotland are being turned away from mental health services, amid warnings that inappropriate referrals are clogging waiting lists and young people are being left to deteriorate before finally undergoing treatment. Neil Findlay, convener of the Scottish Parliament’s Health and Sport Committee called for an investigation after 6,931 referrals to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services were rejected in 2015.
