Dr. Lisa Gavin, a forensic pathologist in Clark County, Nevada, is now testifying as an expert analyst, reviewing the report and photos of Tupac Shakur’s body from his autopsy. Highlighting the challenges of holding a murder trial 30 years after a death actually occurred, the medical examiner who actually conducted the autopsy has since died. Gavin noted that she was in medical school in 1996, but has years of experience in interpreting evidence.
The second day of the Tupac Shakur’s murder trial began with more audio from a years-old interview between Duane “Keffe D” Davis, who is accused of orchestrating Shakur’s shooting, and Fred Miller, a former Los Angeles police detective who had investigated Davis in connection with the 1997 murder of Christopher Wallace, the rapper known as Biggie Smalls or the Notorious BIG. Attorneys continued to play a lengthy audio recording of Miller questioning Davis in 1997.

US supreme court declined to halt execution of William Frances Silvia, and state has two executions next month
A Florida man convicted of fatally shooting his estranged wife and wounding his mother-in-law is set to be executed on Tuesday, continuing the state’s aggressive use of the death penalty in Republican governor Ron DeSantis’s final term.
William Frances Silvia, 61, would be the 13th prisoner put to death this year in Florida, which has two more executions scheduled in September and has carried out more than half the US’s 22 executions so far in 2026.
