Paul McMahon, 88, of Belfast passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Sussman House in Rockport. He was surrounded by his family, with the doors of his room open wide to the sound of songbirds and the smell of the ocean.

Belfast police add veteran investigator to roster
Chief Mike McFadden asked councilors to approve hiring Gerry Lincoln to fill the position. Lincoln, who most recently worked as a detective for Waldo County Sheriff's Office, replaces Bryan Cunningham who retired earlier this year after serving the city for 25 years.
In Memory Program to honor Lincolnville Vietnam veteran
Dennis Jasper Webber of Lincolnville, who died in 2012, will be among 312 Vietnam veterans inducted into the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund's "In Memory Program" Saturday, June 18, at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The program honors Vietnam veterans whose lives were cut short as a result of their service in Vietnam, but who are not eligible for inscription on The Wall under Department of Defense guidelines.
