Schumer still pushing to add sailors’ names to Vietnam Memorial Wall

U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer is continuing to lobby to get members of the military killed during the Vietnam War added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. During a meeting with Defense Secretary James Mattis, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer urged Secretary Mattis to grant Terry Lee Henderson of Mayville, Larry Reilly Jr., and the names of 72 other sailors who died on the U.S.S. Frank E. Evans the honor and respect of being added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. Schumer explained the Department of Defense has delayed adding Frank E. Evans 74 to the wall, citing a rule which limits recognition on the memorial wall to sailors who died within a designated combat zone.

Veterans Who Died from Agent Orange Exposure Honored at Vietnam War Memorial

The names of 312 Vietnam War veterans who died from exposure to Agent Orange were added to the rolls at the Vietnam Veterans War Memorial on Saturday. Family members of the deceased veterans were on hand to receive a recognition plaque and place photos of their loved ones at the base of the memorial wall of names.

In Memory Program to honor Lincolnville Vietnam veteran

Dennis Jasper Webber of Lincolnville, who died in 2012, will be among 312 Vietnam veterans inducted into the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund's "In Memory Program" Saturday, June 18, at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The program honors Vietnam veterans whose lives were cut short as a result of their service in Vietnam, but who are not eligible for inscription on The Wall under Department of Defense guidelines.
