U.S. Coast Guard helicopter finds overdue kayaker in the Everglades

The search for an Illinois man two days late returning from an Everglades kayaking trip ended Tuesday morning when a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter found him safe. The National Park Service and U.S. Coast Guard had been searching for Lockport, Illinois resident James Soltis, who embarked on a Everglades Wilderness Waterway kayaking trip to the Everglades National Park Rangers March 15. Soltis was supposed to be back Sunday.

Coast Guard special agent accused in Vancouver sexual assault

The head of the U.S. Coast Guard's internal investigations in the Northwest was arrested Sunday in Vancouver on suspicion of climbing into his co-worker's bed and sexually assaulting the colleague's girlfriend. Jonathan Sall, 56, of Poulsbo, Washington is accused in Clark County of second-degree rape for the alleged abuse that occurred at the co-worker's home the same day Sall was arrested.
