Trump’s War on Oceans Continues

In just his first six months in office, President Donald Trump undertook a range of actions that gravely undermined common-sense stewardship of America's oceans-enough for the Center for American Progress to conclude that he had launched a "War on Oceans." His attacks included withdrawing from the Paris Agreement on climate change; signing executive orders aimed at reckless expansion of offshore oil drilling; direct attacks on the spectacular wildlife protected within national marine sanctuaries and marine national monuments; and proposing draconian cuts to the budget of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration .

Trump believes he is above any and all laws

Five months ago, the lawyers for Donald Trump crafted an incredible 20-page letter to special prosecutor Robert Mueller claiming their client, as president, has "absolute authority" on any and all investigations, including the one against him. The letter surfaced Saturday in The New York Times and attempts to make a case that Trump is above the law in any and all matters that concern him and anyone else he deems invulnerable.

Burying the One-State Solution in Palestine/Israel

The one-state option is gaining traction, but media coverage consistently suggests that the only possible scenarios for Palestine/Israel are either the two-state solution or the continued regime of Israeli occupation, colonization and apartheid. The one-state solution is the idea of bringing justice and peace to Palestine/Israel by having all inhabitants of historic Palestine-the land that includes Israel, the West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza-living in one, binational country, where everyone has equal rights and political matters are settled on the basis of one person, one vote.

Coalition of 40+ Rights Groups Call on DHS to Release Unredacted “Race Paper”

More than 40 racial justice and civil rights groups are calling on the Department of Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis to release the unredacted memo referred to in other DHS documents as the "Race Paper" and "Growing Frequency of Race-Related Domestic Terrorist Violence." The memo recently came to light as the result of a Freedom of Information Act request, but was itself entirely redacted.
