Coast Guard on search for missing Royal Caribbean crew member

The Coast Guard is searching in the Gulf of Mexico for a crew member who went missing from a Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas cruise ship around 1:30 a.m. Monday. USCG released a statement Monday after the Eighth District command center in New Orleans received a report that the unidentified man, 39, was seen "approximately 170 miles southeast" of Galveston, Texas.

A former North Texas Marine has been sentenced to nearly two years in prison after receiving veterans benefits, including a house, due to fraudulent claims he was injured during combat in Iraq. The 35-year-old Blackstone had pleaded guilty in September to one count of wire fraud and one count of fraudulent representation about the receipt of a military decoration for financial gain.

Coast Guard cutter seizes $390M in cocaine

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk returned to Key West on Saturday following a three-month counter-drug patrol in the Pacific Ocean. The Coast Guard says the Mohawk's crew interdicted 14 vessels that were smuggling illegal narcotics, detained 41 suspected smugglers and seized approximately 12,000 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of over $390 million.
