In another show of force, central Ohio divers marched to the awards podium after the Division I girls state meet Thursday as if they had transported from the pool by truck. Standing tallest after the medal ceremony was sophomore Maycey Vieta of Gahanna, who had the competition of her life to win the big-school championship, giving central Ohio divers six titles in the past seven years in the event. Vieta scored 455.45 points over 11 dives on the 1-meter springboard to edge 2016 champion and Ohio State Diving Club teammate Nikki Watters of New Albany by 8.05 points for the title at C.T. Branin Natatorium.
