Standing tallest after the medal ceremony was sophomore Maycey Vieta of Gahanna, who had the competition of her life to win the big-school championship, giving central Ohio divers six titles in the past seven years in the event. Vieta scored 455.45 points over 11 dives on the 1-meter springboard to edge 2016 champion and Ohio State Diving Club teammate Nikki Watters of New Albany by 8.05 points for the title at C.T. Branin Natatorium.

American ski team pulls out of combined race after crashes

It’s been three years since the Arkansas Razorbacks women’s cross country and track and field teams went to an SEC meet and didn’t win the championship. The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville has won eight consecutive SEC titles since finishing third behind the University of Florida and Texas A&M University at the 2014 indoor track meet.
