North Korea wins first medal at Asian Winter Games

North Korea won its first medal at the Asian Winter Games on Saturday as Ryom Tae Ok and Kim Ju Sik won the bronze medal in the figure skating pairs event. The North Korean pair, third after the short program, received 112.18 points in Saturday’s free skating for a total of 177.40 points.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) announces South Africa’s test squad against New Zealand

Cricket South Africa today named two uncapped players, Heinrich Klaasen and Theunis de Bruyn , in the Standard Bank Proteas Test squad for the three-match series against New Zealand starting next month. Morne Morkel returns to the squad after missing the recent Test series against Sri Lanka, while there is also place for fellow fast bowler Chris Morris, who was injured for a large part of last year after making his debut against England.

Formula 1: Williams launch new car for 2017 season

The FW-40, which also has red and blue stripes running down its centre, is wider than the 2016 car and has bigger tyres following regulation changes. The new car will take to the track for the first time during a pre-season test, which will start with Massa driving it in Barcelona on Monday, 27 February.

The Australian Turf Club is embroiled in a major scandal after its mounted security division was shut down amid claims that former racehorses were mistreated and illegally sedated to fulfil lucrative commercial work. The ATC’s Mounted Division uses retired racehorses that are retrained for everyday life.
