Dan Johnson, Kentucky lawmaker accused of sexually assaulting teen, dies in apparent suicide
Dan Johnson , a Republican state lawmaker in Kentucky who defiantly denied allegations that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl in the basement of his home, died in an apparent suicide, the county coroner said. Bullitt County Coroner Dave Billings said Johnson died of a single gunshot wound Wednesday night on Greenwell Ford Road in Mount Washington, Kentucky.

A Kentucky state lawmaker has apparently taken his own life following accusations that surfaced in reports by the investigative arm of Louisville Public Media - the most serious of which was the alleged sexual assault a 17-year-old girl in the basement of the church where he served as pastor.
Gingrich rules out Cabinet role in Trump administration
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich confirmed on Thursday that he is not seeking a Cabinet-level post in the next administration, dispelling rumors that he was being considered to lead the Pentagon or State Department. Instead, Gingrich said he intends to assist the Trump administration as a private citizen.
