Concealed weapon applications going online

People seeking to renew licenses to carry concealed weapons, or those applying for them, will be able to do online starting July 2 in Butte County. In a press release, the Butte County Sheriff's Office reported it will be going to a computerized program called "Permitium" that will allow a renewal or first-time application to be turned in online 24 hours a day.

A state school official says any school forced to close because of evacuations may be able to recover attendance funding, the main revenue source for local districts.
