Convention over, Clinton faces hacking, Trump criticism

A giddy if exhausted Hillary Clinton embarked on a post-convention Rust Belt bus tour just hours after becoming the first female presidential nominee of a major political party. The celebratory mood quickly evaporated amid fresh revelations that hackers had breached a program used by her campaign and Republican nominee Donald Trump promised to sharpen his barbs.

Appeals court: North Carolina voter ID law unconstitutional

A federal appeals court ruled that a North Carolina law illegally targeted minorities with tougher ballot access rules, such as requiring photo identification to vote, adding a new partisan flashpoint in a swing state with a raft of hotly contested elections. The ruling Friday by the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals declared that the 2013 law violated the Constitution and the federal Voting Rights Act by targeting black voters "with almost surgical precision."

Clinton campaign stop in Youngstown delayed by half hour

The Hillary Clinton campaign has pushed back by one half hour, the time at which the presidential candidate and her running mate will speak in Youngstown tonight. Campaign officials now say that Clinton and vice-presidential hopeful Tim Kaine are scheduled to speak at East High School at 8:15 p.m., instead of 7:45 p.m., as originally announced.
