It feels like forever ago that the Marquette Golden Eagles had this much optimism around them. In the ‘new era’ of the Big East Conference, they’ve yet to return to the NCAA Tournament , a feat that would have seemed unimaginable for a program that, for much of the 2000s, found the tourney almost like a second home.
