The nearly dozen candidates running to replace Republican Gov. Chris Christie get their income through state-funded salaries, dividends, rental properties and small businesses, according to disclosure reports released Monday. The reports, which are required under state law, come ahead of the June 6 primary when Democrats and Republicans will select their parties' nominee for the November general election to succeed Christie, who is prohibited by law from running for a third term.

President Donald Trump signed legislation Thursday allowing states to withhold federal family planning dollars from clinics that provide abortion services, a move that effectively deprives Planned Parenthood and several other family groups of a significant source of funding. The move marked the 12th time that Trump has signed a resolution under the 1996 Congressional Review Act abolishing a rule issued under President Barack Obama.

NEW YORK, March 23 U.S. 30-year mortgage rates fell from 11-week highs as Treasury yields decreased in the wake of indications by the Federal Reserve last week that it will remain on a gradual path to raising interest rates, according to mortgage finance agency Freddie Mac on Thursday. The borrowing cost on 30-year mortgages, the most widely held type of U.S. home loan, averaged 4.23 percent in the week ended March 23. This compared with the prior week's 4.30 percent which was the highest since 4.32 percent in the week ended Dec. 29, it said.
