Leetonia area home included in federal investigation of treatment center

The FBI, one of several agencies investigating Braking Point Recovery Center, is asking members of the public who have had interactions with the addiction treatment center to get in touch if they have any concerns or information. The FBI is not releasing the reason why nearly 100 agents from multiple agencies searched the recovery center's locations on Wednesday, said FBI special agent Vicki Anderson.

961 knives seized at airport were on way to Leighton Buzzard firm

A Leighton Buzzard firm found itself on the wrong side of the law after hundred of imported flick knives were intercepted at an airport. Customs officers found 961 flick knives in boxes marked 'cutlery and novelty items' arriving from the US, when they intercepted the stash at East Midlands Airport on February 15. UK Immigration Authority forfeited the items before they could be sent to publishers Artemis Webb Ltd, based in Drakes Avenue, Leighton Buzzard.

12 more cops accused in Kian slay

Twelve more Caloocan policemen have been included in the criminal complaint for the death of Grade 11 student Kian Loyd delos Santos. A former Dallas County constable is facing 14 counts of identity theft after authorities found printing machines and social security numbers inside a Selma hotel room, District Attorney Michael Jackson said. Demario Benjamin, along with Christopher Ford and Markus Gloss, were arrested after the FBI, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks and Explosives and the Fourth Circuit Drug Tasks Force executed a search warrant at a room at Selma Hotel on West Highland Avenue.

Justice Department program to target areas with most violent crime

Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a directive Thursday that refocuses federal prosecutors on violent crime cases and requires each U.S. Attorney's Office to develop a localized plan that targets areas plagued by the most violence. The Justice Department will "reinvigorate" the Project Safe Neighborhoods programs first developed in 2001, and require its federal prosecutors to provide feedback every six months on their progress.
