Children helped into sport with new NHS prosthetic limbs

Double leg amputee Richard Whitehead said he was delighted to see the next generation take their first steps in experiencing the freedom of running Children who are missing an arm or leg are being helped to run, swim and play sport after getting new sports limbs on the NHS. The roll-out of the sports prostheses on the NHS for the first time is part of a A 1.5 million Government fund to help child amputees and others across England get active and might help create Britain’s next batch of Paralympic athletes.
