The U.S. Department of Education has removed a webpage about a law for students with disabilities - one that Education Secretary Betsy DeVos did not seem to understand during a Senate confirmation hearing. The page for the Individuals with Disabilities Act disappeared without explanation right before DeVos' confirmation on Tuesday.
US Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders on Sunday called President Donald Trump a "pathological liar", while his colleague Senator Al Franken claimed that "a few" Republican senators are concerned about Trump's mental health. The strong words from two high-profile senators came as Democrats attacked Trump's travel ban and said that members of his administration should be investigated or have security clearances suspended for recent comments or conversations with Russian officials.
A Democratic senator claims that "a few" of his Republican colleagues have expressed concern to him about President Donald Trump 's mental health - and that stems from questions about Trump's truthfulness. Minnesota's Al Franken tells CNN's "State of the Union" that the concern arises "in the way that we all have this suspicion" that "he lies a lot.
"Let me as be unequivocal as possible-allegations of voter fraud in NH are baseless, without any merit-it's shameful to spread these fantasies," tweeted Tom Rath, who worked on the presidential campaigns of George W. Bush and Mitt Romney.
Alec Baldwin, who has scored in guest shots on "Saturday Night Live" with his mocking impersonation of Donald Trump since the campaign's final weeks, presided Saturday night as guest host of the NBC comedy show, serving up yet another Trump masquerade. In his spoof, President Trump made good on a tweeted vow to "see you in court" directed at the three Ninth Circuit federal judges who last week refused to lift a stay preventing his immigration ban from being enforced.
National Review writer Alexandra Desanctis on Wednesday published a piece purporting to explain how recent conservative efforts to defend "religious freedom" aren't really about discriminating against LGBT Americans. Since she used a Salon piece written a day earlier by a former colleague of mine, Nico Lang, to illustrate how liberals are "maliciously mischaracteriz[ing] FADA and other religious-freedom protections," it seems only fair to issue a point-by-point response to the specious claims made in the National Review.
The Pentagon is launching efforts to solve a baffling World War II mystery: whether dozens of U.S. sailors listed as missing from a ship disaster were actually recovered and buried all along as unknowns in a New York cemetery. More than 130 victims of the USS Turner's 1944 explosion and sinking near New York Harbor are still officially missing.
Trump's Senior White House Advisor, Stephen Miller, proves to be as capable and unabashed as Dear Leader at providing blatant lies to an incredulous press. Stephanopoulos, by my reckoning, asked for evidence to back Miller's claims no less than eight times in less than four minutes.

Domination by one party is a rare event in American politics and no fun for the party out of power. And despite all of the anti-GOP protests after the 2016 elections, things may actually get worse for Democrats.
At congressional town hall meetings, on the patchy grass of the National Mall, and in the flood of comments posted on Senator Elizabeth Warren's Facebook page, it seems painfully obvious: Liberals are getting energized and exercised. They have found a rallying cry in opposing President Trump's policies on immigration, health care, and just about everything else that comes across his Twitter feed.

One of the most important issues for Utah citizens and members of the Mormon Church revolve around religious liberty and freedom. The U.S. Supreme Court will ultimately decide these issues.
I was incredibly proud of my friends and neighbors in Utah during the recent presidential election. We made national headlines for opposing Donald Trump's antics and ethics even when so many other Republican states embraced him with open arms.
