Rye Figure Skating Club Celebrates 80th Anniversary With Free Show

The Rye Figure Skating Club, founded in 1937, is celebrating its 80th anniversary by hosting a free ice skating show at Rye’s historic Playland Ice Casino on Saturday, March 11 at 8 p.m. The one-hour Rye FSC 80th Anniversary Celebration on Ice will feature over 70 performers – the majority of whom reside in Westchester County – including award- winning members and alumni of Rye Figure Skating Club. Different disciplines of ice skating will be showcased such as freestyle, pairs, ice theater, ice dance and synchronized ice skating.

A Connecticut man is facing numerous criminal charges after he led Westchester County Police on a chase Wednesday night on the Hutchinson River Parkway, rammed two police cars and injured several officers before being subdued and placed under arrest. Three police officers – two from Westchester County and one from Harrison – were injured in the incident, which occurred about 9 p.m. James Rozsa, 24, of Ingalls Avenue, Norwalk, was charged with Assault 2nd Degree, a felony, and Reckless Endangerment, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, misdemeanors.

Yonkers Man Extradited From Scotland To Face Murder Charges

A Westchester man has been extradited from Scotland and returned to Westchester County, where he will face murder charges after fleeing the country last year following the fatal shooting of a teenager. On Thursday, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino announced that 31-year-old Sheppard Adeghe of Yonkers has been extradited and will face life in prison for his role in the shooting death of his victim last summer.
