Mohawk Commons, the Niskayuna retail complex, has been sold for $66 million to a national operator of open-air shopping centers. DLC Management Corp. of Tarrytown, Westchester County, acquired the property in a joint venture with DRA Advisors LLC. Mohawk Commons was purchased from Ohio-based DDR Corp. as part of a portfolio of 16 shopping centers, all but one of them in New York state.

On Monday night, the Westchester County Board of Legislators voted 9-8 to ban gun shows at county-run venues. The ban would affect the upcoming gun show at the Westchester County Center in White Plains on Jan. 21. County officials say there will be a police presence at the show and background checks for anyone who wants to purchase a weapon.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo today announced a proposal to connect hiking trails in different parts of New York, creating a 750-mile trail that will span the New York Harbor, Adirondack Mountains, shores of Lake Erie and elsewhere. The state would have to develop 350 additional miles of new trails in phases, the governor said during a “State of the State” address Tuesday in Westchester County.
