This year’s edition of the world’s premier indie film fest, running Jan. 19-29, boasts everything from intriguing sci-fi flicks to several eye-opening documentaries. It is, without question, the world’s premier showcase for independent cinema-one that’s hosted the feature filmmaking debuts of the Coen brothers, Quentin Tarantino, Richard Linklater, Darren Aronofsky, and many more of America’s best and brightest.
Sundance to – engage and provoke’ with focus on climate
The Sundance Film Festival opens in Utah Thursday, promising to set the agenda for independent cinema and starting the 2018 Oscars buzz a month before this year’s statuettes are awarded. The annual gathering, founded in 1985 by iconic screen outlaw Robert Redford, turns the lens on 118 independent features, as Hollywood descends on the ski resort of Park City for the 33rd edition.
