The BAFTA-nominated English comic actor also appeared in Last of the Summer Wine, Are You Being Served?, Emmerdale and Coronation Street. Kaye had rarely been seen onscreen following the end of the long-running show, which he returned to in 1990 after he was seriously injured in a car accident.
