Book review: Rich memoirs by Pineda Shelton illuminate

Acclaimed authors Cecile Pineda and Richard Shelton add original takes on the art of the memoir with their newest books. Cecile Pineda’s “Three Tides” skillfully links the voices of displacement and aging in thematically connected genres: an intimate memoir; poignant conversations with New Orleans survivors of Hurricane Katrina; and a drama of elderly, uprooted Japanese villagers, who must contemplate a final move to the city.
