John Wetton, singer and bassist for Asia and King Crimson, dies at 67

Musician John Wetton, a founding member of the band Asia, died Tuesday after a battle against colon cancer, according to a statement on Wetton’s website. He was 67. Wetton came to prominence in the ’70s with the band King Crimson, but was best known as the bassist and lead vocalist for Asia, a progressive rock “supergroup” formed in 1982, featuring members of King Crimson, Yes and Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
