Last year, the San Diego rock band Wavves made headlines by announcing that it was “dis-inviting” supporters of then presidential candidate Donald J. Trump – along with “racists, homophobes, anyone who blames rape victims and anyone who has gone out of way to defend police in America” – from attending shows on its upcoming summer tour. While it remains unclear how many of the above groups are – or were – fans of Wavves, the noise-embracing slacker-punk band now hopes to making headlines anew.
