Frontier Airlines and Silver Airways are dropping air service to Cuba , saying other airlines are adding too many flights to the island nation and making the routes unprofitable. U.S. airlines rushed to begin flights to Cuba last year after the Obama administration allowed commercial service for the first time in more than half a century.

Belize Government looking at legislation to tackle misuse of social media

BELMOPAN, Belize : The Belize government is moving to clamp down on the misuse of the social media and is establishing a taskforce to look at the issue of cyber laws, Solicitor General, Nigel Hawke has said. “We’ve just discussed that there’s a committee set up that is looking at the issue of cybercrime legislation but it’s at the stage where it’s just a number of multi-sectoral groups which have been discussing the issue with the view of coming up with a final policy position to take to Cabinet for approval,” he said.

Speed cameras not yet launched

Power company wants to introduce sea water A/C system to Jamaica

Jamaican power and conservation solutions company, New Leaf Power said it is desirous of introducing sea water air conditioning technology to Jamaica following a 12-member public and private sector study tour of two alternative energy systems in Canada. This is against the background that in the Caribbean, according to the Caribbean Development Bank , air conditioning accounts, on average, for 50 per cent of total energy consumption in commercial buildings, while sea water technology is estimated to reduce electricity consumption for air conditioning by up to 90 per cent.
