A New Zealand Golf life member, Whitehead represented New Zealand in two Espirito Santo tournaments , three Commonwealth teams and three Tasman Cup matches . She was a national selector, won nine national titles herself, was a prominent figure for the Manawatu Golf Club, where she is a life member, and for Manawatu-Wanganui Golf.
