Five years’ jail await BBC journalist charged with defamation over Phuket land case

A BRITISH journalist with the BBC is facing the prospect of spending up to five years in a Thai prison over his 2015 investigative report on a land scam case in Phuket. The journalist, BBC’s Southeast Asia correspondent Jonathan Head , was hauled to court Thursday where he and another defendant in the case, Ian Rance, pleaded not guilty to criminal defamation.
